Foundational
Designs are inspired by Hawaiian quilts and the way they are echo
quilted. Depending on how complex the pattern, the echo quilting would
reflect the beautiful patterns all over the quilt and I started to
wonder if it was possible to echo something other than an appliqued
shape.
It turns out you can! These designs are created by first setting your foundation, then either echoing or filling the outside of the foundation in interesting ways. The inspiration for this design type is endless because these designs are super simple to create and can work in many different areas of your quilts.
Note: Because
Foundational Designs can differ radically, please check the description
of each design to know where it will work the best.
