Baskets in Bloom

This is the 2009 Foothills Quilters Guild raffle quilt. It was appliquéd by several members of the guild, and then I quilted and bound it.

I've never been much of a fan of Dresden plates, but after quilting this quilt, I really like them!

The background of each block and the border is densely quilted with McTavishing, and the green sashing is filled with an interwoven rope design.

Of course, the blooms, rope border, and Dresden plates are all made to stand out even more with trapunto.

This quilt is going to be raffled off at the Foothills Quilter's Guild show in October 2009 in Shelby, North Carolina.
