Clover "Cheater" Self-Threading Needles
Save time and still hide all of your threads by using a cheater needle! A cheater needle is another term for a self-threading needle, or a needle that has a open notch in the top of the eye so you can pop your threads into the eye easily. Hiding your quilting threads can take a little while to get used to. Most quilters just anchor their stitches with several stitches in one place, then clip off the thread tails. Unfortunately this can leave a very noticable bump where you start and end your stitching. It can also come unraveled and look very unsightly on the surface of your quilt. So instead get into the habit of starting quilting normally with no anchoring stitches. Resist the temptation to clip off those thread tails! Once you're finished quilting your space, use a cheater needle to thread those loose threads quickly and pass them through the middle, batting layer of the quilt and clip them off. This leave no visible sign of where you started or stopped quilting on either the back or the front of your quilt. Learn how to do this in this video: Special Note from Leah - I personally use the Pin Place to hold my single "cheater" self threading needle right next to my quilting machine. This gives me no reason not to hide all my loose threads inside the quilt properly. You may also like to learn about the following products: Ordering
