Flowers for Ellen

Created Spring 2006

This is one of those quilts that make you want to tear your hair out. I came up with this pattern and became very picky and unwilling to change it. I also convinced myself that strip piecing wouldn't save me too much time on this quilt so I cut out every single piece - all 1271 of them!

If cutting it out wasn't bad enough, sewing it all back together was worse. It took me months to put this thing together, but the end result was worth it. I gave this quilt to my Mother-in-Law, Ellen Day for her Birthday in 2006.
