How to Keep Your Lines Even and Consistent

In this video, I'm demonstrating how to quilt the free motion design "Etch n' Sketch". For this design, you need to be able to stitch straight, parallel lines that are consistent distances apart.

My motto is simple: if you can't quilt it - Draw it!

Draw the design on paper until you get bored. No, you don't have to draw it 20 times to get it into your head. You just need to draw it enough that your hands will remember how those shapes work at the sewing machine.

Once the design is logged into your brain, make your quilting life easier by wearing quilting gloves and using a supreme slider to reduce the drag on your quilt.

Stitching straight lines can be very easy when you stitch vertically from top to bottom. Use your hand as a guide to keep your line straight and even with no wobbles!
