Yes! Bobbin washers work in all types of bobbin cases. Just place the washer in your bobbin case, place your wound bobbin on top, and thread the case just like normal.

Try leaving the washer in all the time to see the effect while piecing and applique as well!

Honestly, I just did not believe that such a simple little thing could make such a huge difference in the appearance of the back of my quilts. I've been tempted to order them since I first saw them but frankly, I'm really tired of wasting money on quilting gizmos that don't do what they're supposed to do.
 
I have gotten the hang of free-motion quilting fairly well, but I was just resigned to skipped stitches and little blobs of extra thread on the bobbin side.
 
I put one of these washers in and started quilting another placemat (I've been practicing on these since I started watching your videos) and I was amazed at the instant improvement! So I put another one in one of my other vertical bobbin machines and again, the difference is incredible!
 
I haven't tried them in any of  my horizontal bobbin machines - those aren't generally very good for FM work, anyway, but they may help in those machines, too.
 
I don't know how long they will remain effective, but I don't plan to be without them, again!
