Too often, quilters choose tiny, embroidery scissors when clipping away batting in Trapunto quilts. This is very unfortunate because these types of scissors are very badly designed for the hours of work it can sometimes take to clip away the batting from a large quilt.

These scissors are best for clipping precision areas, like the tight spots in trapunto. When clipping the larger areas of the quilt, I usually use the Famore rounded tip scissors so I don't accidently clip the quilt top!
