Lectures and Workshops with Leah Day
North Carolina
is an excellent place to find creative, local
talent to share information and experience
in the art of quilting. I've just gotten started
speaking to local guilds and holding workshops
part time. I'm not a "big name,"
or a local legend, or even someone that's
won a ribbon at a quilt show yet. I'm just
a girl with a good story and a buttload of
talent that wants to help people quilt
If your guild
or quilting group is interested in having
me come speak or hold a workshop, please don't
hesitate to contact
me for more information.
The following
are descriptions of my lectures and accompaning
workshops:
Willing to Grow
$50 for 1 hour lecture
Are you a
sapling tree bursting with new life and creative
energy or a gnarled tree, twisted into a box
of confining thoughts and limitations? Watch
the transformation of my quilting experience
and learn how to let go and willingly try
new ideas without fear of doing something
"wrong."
Willing
to Grow Workshop
3 hours - $150
Now that we've decided to let go of our fear
and embrace the chaos of creativity, let's
put our new desires into action! Come prepared
to experiement as you create a nature inspired
wallhanging. Everyone will use the same basic
template, but everyone will leave with a different
piece!
Rebirth
$50 for 1 hour lecture
This is an
extremely personal and emotional lecture about
my most humbling experience - the birth of
my son. Learn how I've transformed in body,
mind, and spirit and how I've learned to express
this in my quilts. Life and death are universally
linked and only in small glimpses do we get
a chance to truly understand this balance.
Rebirth
Workshop
$150 for 3 hour workshop
Do you have a transformative
experience that you're struggling to express?
Come and talk about it, share your experience,
and create an art piece that will allow you
to let go and move forward with your life.
Warning: this can be a very emotional and
spiritual experience. You may not create anything
at the workshop, but leave with a drawn design
and inspiration on where to go next.
