I made this quilt specifically for my good friend, Melanie Besson of Balance Yoga Center. During my pregnancy, I stayed sane by going to yoga once a week. The figure in the quilt is standing in a sun salute, with her arms stretched up, looking at the sky. The body swirls inward representing both the inner oneness of yoga, and the creation of space and depth from learning something new.

This quilt was made using Ann Holmes's No Sewing Until You Quilt It method of french fusible applique.
